Look for a Job or Internship in Taiwan

Hi, I’m Antoine.
I lived in Taiwan for more than five years. I first came to Taiwan to study Chinese, stayed to complete a Master’s degree at National Taiwan University, completed several internships during my studies, and later worked for about two years in a local Taiwanese start-up.

I didn’t approach Taiwan as a short-term exchange or a “gap year” experience — I tried to build a professional life there.

What that actually involved

Like many foreigners, I had to figure things out without a roadmap:

  • navigating student, internship, and work visas
  • applying for jobs as a non-native speaker
  • working in mixed Chinese–English environments
  • adapting to Taiwanese workplace culture
  • understanding why some roles are accessible to foreigners — and others simply aren’t

I’ve experienced both the opportunities and the structural limits of Taiwan’s job market.

What I help you with

I help you make clear, realistic decisions about working or interning in Taiwan, including:

  • Internships vs full-time roles (and which visas actually make sense)
  • Common visa dead ends and misunderstandings
  • Industries that actively hire foreigners — and those that rarely do
  • Salary expectations, negotiation limits, and cost of living
  • Workplace culture, hierarchy, and communication styles
  • Recognizing when Taiwan is a good career move — and when it may not be

This is not about motivation or generic job-hunting tips.
It’s about context, constraints, and strategy.

This consulting is for you if you:

  • Are exploring Taiwan as a serious career step
  • Are already in Taiwan but feel stuck or plateauing
  • Are unsure whether to pursue an internship or a full-time role
  • Are comparing Taiwan with China or other Asian job markets
  • Want a reality check before investing months of applications

If you’re looking for promises of “easy jobs” or guaranteed outcomes, this won’t be a good fit.
